Tool Kit

A Tool Kit is a list of those "tricks" that you plan to use or are using to stay smoke free. In my Tool Kit, I wrote ATTITUDE statements as well as actual tools that I could use to stay smoke free. This kit was like preventative medicine for me. I always looked for new tools to add to the Kit.

  • My intention is to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to gain my smoke freedom. Whatever that is.
  • LOTS of water. Drink a lot of water and continue to drink a lot of water. The health benefits are immense.
  • Deep Breathing. Sister Mel, I forget this one often. (Smiling at Melly.) But it’s important.
  • Walking and exercise. Walk a lot and often, if not every day. Walk especially if I’m feeling blue.
  • Be with AS3. Write and post as much as I can. Write down ideas that I find that might help me.
  • Cognitive Quitting.
  • Clean something thoroughly. And I mean thoroughly. Smile.
  • Call one of my friends and talk about anything but not smoking.
  • Go to the movies.
  • Read a book. Get lost in some epic novel.
  • Take a bath, complete with bubbles, incense and candles. And stay in until I am a wrinkled prune.
  • Jolly Ranchers (the fire kind, of course), popcorn (my keyboard nemesis), Altoids and lots of carrots.
  • Make changes to my routine.
  • Don’t retreat. Reach out when I need to.
  • Work on my ATTITUDE. Keep it fresh and up to date.
  • Work on my Took Kit. Keep it current!!
