Chapter 1
We
left Sparks at about 10:30 AM and arrived to our campsite on
private land near Croyden, Utah, about 12 hours later. The drive
went smoothly. We stopped often and didn't really rush through
the drive although there were moments when we were going faster
than 85 mph which is as high as the speedometer goes on the
Jeep. Yiks! Mark drove the first half and I, the last.
Once
in camp, I found my tent had already been set up. 3 of our WillowNations
group had left early. They offered to take this kind of camping
equipment with them with this intention. Yippee!! It was great
to get there and have a place to put the suitcase right off
of the bat. At first, it seemed a bit snug with the tents set
mostly next to each other.... but as the days went on, it turned
out perfectly. (My tent was never in the sun!!! Huge Smile.)
I hope I can sleep like this though.
I
went up to see the 'Tree' from last year's Sun Dance. One is
immediately drawn into touching this symbol of great power.
Someone came up beside me and started crying. It was Tu Bears.
She, too, recognized the healer in front of us. Her health concerns
all of us who love her so I am really asking the Creator to
take care of her.
It
was also a wonderful goodbye. The tree will be taken down tomorrow.
It will be done in a good way.... that is by not allowing any
part of the tree to touch the ground until all of the bundles,
ropes and prayer ties have been removed. Then the tree will
be chopped up for use as fire wood for the first fire that will
be lit in the arena common firepit.
I'm
bushed.... more tomorrow night. It's been a long one. Nite.
